[ Wei Wuxian is not at all used to sleeping alone anymore.

Yet for the past few nights, that's what he's had to suffer though. Who could imagine it?! He, the proud husband of Hanguang-Jun, having to fall asleep all by his lonesome! It's enough to drive a man mad!

Which is why when there's suddenly someone else in bed with him, Wei Wuxian reacts on pure instinct. Still sound asleep, he curls up very close against the warm body next to him, and stays that way until he wakes. Whether that awakening comes naturally or by some sort of external prodding is entirely decided by just who it is he's pressed against.

Once awake he startles slightly. ]

Oh, ah. Good morning! When, ah, when did you get there?

[ What happened while he was asleep?! ]

[He'd left the second morning after this whole situation had started, choosing to take care of some hunts that were relatively close by, taking the juniors with him for training.

But waking back in his normal bed had him still, head turning slightly to look at Wei Ying asleep beside him. Not that he moves or tries to wake him, instead waiting for him to wake.]

...I am not sure. I woke up here.

[zushi]

You did? Did you fall asleep somewhere else?

[ He certainly wasn't here when Wei Wuxian went to sleep, and Wei Wuxian is usually the one falling asleep second...

But suddenly a thought occurs to him, one that has him pushing himself up onto his arms as if readying himself to spring out of bed. ]

Lan Zhan, you had gone out with the juniors, right?! Are they alright?!

[abstains]

We had taken rooms at an inn. They're likely on their way back now, given how late it is. [He answers, shifting to sit up and watching Wei Ying. ]

I'll send someone to meet them.

[zushi]

[ There's unmistakable concern in his features as he stares at Lan Wangji, only slightly softened by the explanation. ]

Won't they worry that you're not there?

[abstains]

They'll return here as soon as they realize. They know if something happened, that's the only option they have given you didn't accompany us. But I will send someone to meet them. They aren't that far away.

[zushi]

... Okay.

[ He's pensive for a few more seconds, then suddenly throws himself into Lan Wangji's arms. Since he's had to fall asleep alone, he's been actually wearing clothes to bed again. ]

Aah, they're a clever group, they'll be fine! More importantly, Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan! I've missed you so much; how have you been? Tell me everything I missed, every second of every day that I couldn't be at your side!
