Rules:
1. Respect others. Remember that there is always another person on the other side of the screen with their own feelings, perspective, and experiences. Always respect other players' boundaries and permissions.
2. Players under the age of 18 are not allowed to engage in or interact with sexually explicit content. If you are under the age of 18, all journals you use in Xianxia Dressing must mention that you are underage either on the profile page or in a prominent permissions post. If you are over the age of 18, check that the other player is as well (and is amenable to it at all!) before including sexually explicit content.
3. IC=/=OOC, or less pithily, there should be a separation between things that are within fictional ("in character") space and things in real ("out of character") space. This extends to many aspects, including but not limited to: not taking a character's actions as a personal attack, not using one's own character's actions to attack a player or their decisions, not using a character as a mouthpiece for one's own opinions, and not taking the opinions of a character as the player's own.
4. Warn for any questionable content in a clearly visible place. This can include but is not limited to: sexual content, excessive violence, triggering behavior, sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, and so on. If a post has NSFW content, please put it under a cut. Allow others to curate their experiences regarding interacting with your content.
5. Have fun! The setting of Xianxia Dressing is intentionally loose and players are allowed to make up whatever facilitates their own fun, as long as it keeps to the theme of xianxia/wuxia and also respects the ability of others to have fun as well. All events, locations, continuity, etc are suggestions: there's no need to play something if it's not fun.

Xianxia Dressing is an open community! We welcome anyone to come play in our setting. Please note that if you are under the age of 18, you must note this as described in our rules. You do not need to join the community in order to interact with posts.
What kind of characters are allowed?
Basically any character that doesn't violate the rule of IC=/=OOC. We allow canon characters, original characters ("OCs"), alternate universe ("AU") characters, OCs within established canon universes, more than one of the same character at the same time ("doubles"), characters you're not solid with, etc. Characters do not have to be from xianxia media! Feel free to have characters visiting the world from their own, AU into the world, or anything you like to adapt them to the setting.
What's in the setting?
Since this is a dressing room, there's no fixed locations. Feel free to play around with anything you might find in a xianxia or wuxia setting! If you need some ideas to get started, here are some options:
What kind of events are there?
Some serious, some silly. We will try to provide a range of options in the long run, though individual events will likely have specific focuses, but we will try to keep things relatively lighthearted. (There will be no sex-focused events but you're welcome to play things in that direction with player consent.)
Is there a network?
Feel free to crib Heaven Official's Blessing (among others) and use a communication array if that's your jam. There is no separate community for network posts.

What if I break the rules? What if someone else breaks the rules?
While we don't have any formal system of punishments we reserve the right to talk with players about their behavior in our community, and in the most egregious cases ask someone not to play in the community anymore. If you would like to bring something to our attention, you can use the mod contact post.
