Oversleeping
[ It's still dark out, so obviously that means Xue Yang is still sleeping. After all, he doesn't get up for the sunrise. Hell, he barely gets up for the morning, so the fact that it's way past morning and nearly midday has completely escaped him.
Which means that even the sound of footsteps outside his room don't have him getting out of bed... though they do catch his attention enough to rouse him. Is someone going to come in and interrupt him? Try to rouse him? Make an attempt on his life? He's had these concerns almost as long as he's lived, so even though he isn't getting up, he's at the least awake now even as he pretends otherwise.
He's never been a deep sleeper. ]
